All members were present. The meeting was called for the purpose of further discussing the request from the Northern Indiana Transit Co.-nipany for permission to take off the additional bus on the North Side-11ishawaka Bus route which now runs trough the Sunnymede area. After a full discussion of the facts, during which time the Board discussed the independent survey made by the city to check on the figures presented by the Bus Company :rhich were in dispute and which the City found were substantially correct, the Board announc- ed that they .-could grant the petition of the Bus Company to withdraw the bus service on titayne Street and T wyckenham give in the Suslnymede Addition effective at midnight on 11arch 31, 1946. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourn- ed at 10' 00 A.?,:!I. Arrangement w]-riereb y such certificate was filed, was approved, but the certificate itself was returned to the Insurance Company and its correction requested before filing. Excavation bonds were approved for Robert L. Thorpe, TTilton F. S hisler, The Pre- cision Piece Parts Company and -Dewey 7illifo-rd. These were ordered filed. IIr. Farris Ackil appeared before the Board to ask permission to attach a private sewer to a main sewer. The Board the pen.ii scion provided that a plan is first submitted. to Vir. Lineback, the Plumbing Inspector, and approved by him. The S-L-A-B Construction Company asked for permission to remove a street light post at the intersection of Balder and TichILgan Streets. The Board granted.the per- mission provided irTr. Qualls makes an investigation and recommendation of same and inforrxs the 'Jlectric Company. STREET DEPARTPIENT: i1Ir. Casimer Balka, Street Cor.�:iissioner, ,-ias present and matters per- taining to his department were discussed. The Board accepted a surety Bond covering contract for supplying the city with asphalt for the period ending December 31, 1946, by the Standard Oil Company of Indiana, and directed the Clerk of the Board to return to the Standard Oil Company, the certified check which accompanied their bid. Cencele-as i. A Contrac lor's bond was approved ,and ordered filed for Stanley J. 'aachowiak. The Bond for the Fabricated Steel Products, Inc., which was returned to the Ins- urance Company for correction ,:ras approved by the Joard in its corrected form. A letter was received from Aaron Huguenhard indicating that the Electric Company and the Chicago, South Shore and South Bend Railroad had come to an agreement concern- ing the easement for the po,rrer lines on that portion of Sycamore Street which w as vac- ated under Vacation Resolution No. 2546. A letter was received from the City Plan Corraission indicating that they do not recommend the vacation of Sibley Avenue from Brookfield Street to Johnson Street because of the presence of a 6 inch grater main down the center of Sibley Avenue,. The Clerk of the Board was directed to write to the petitioners informing, them that" the' .Boardcannot vacate Sibley Avenue from Brookfield Street to Johnson Street. • • • 0 • •
