STREET DEPARTI'IENT: Mr. Casimer Balka., Street Commissioner, was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. Mr. Balka informed the Board that his department was in need of several pieces of equipment, and the Board directed him to draw up a list of the equipment needed and bring it to their attention. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: I1r. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters per- taining to his epartment were discussed. There being no further business to come before the Board, the mee ing was adjourned at 11:00 A.II. All members ly=ere present. 1,111inutes of the last meeting were read and approved. There were no claims of suppliers to be approved. TRAFFIC D EPARTT,'IENT: Mr. Ernest Hiller, Traffic Engineer, waspresent and matters per- taining to his department were discussed. STREET DEPr1n`I'1,21EItT: ;Ir. Casimer Balka, Street Co=:issi oner, was present and natters pertaining to his department viere discussed. Mr. Balka submitted a list of needed equipment for his department and the Clerk of the Board was authorized to advertise for bids to be opened and read up to 11:00 A.M. on T.Tarch 11, 1946 for the following items:, 3 tractors, 3 snow plows, one power mower, one bulldozer, one power sewer cleaner, one crane and cla�nshell, one street sweeper and one bituminous mixer. The clerk was also directed to advertise for bids to be opened at the same time for crushed stone, road oil, gravel, sand and gravel, asphalt mixes and calcium chloride. ENGINEERING DEPAR T1,5ENT: No action having been taken by the City Plan Commission on the petition to vacate Sycamore Street, the, first alley running eAait and west from Sycamore Street to the East Race and the First alley East of Sycamore Street running lJorth and South f33.om LaSalle Avenue to the first east and ti=crest alley North of LaSalle Avenue, the Board took action and approved the vacation resolution and ordered the resolution advertised for public hearing as follows: • 9 0 • • • 239 • 0 0 • • • 0 VACATION RESOLUTION No. 2546 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC NORMS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH Bi2?D, INDIANA: That it is desirable to vacate_ the following; Sycamore Street north of LaSalle Avenue and The first alley running east and .-est. from Sycamore Street to the east race, which said alley is the first alley north of and parallel to LaSalle Avenue; and The first alley east of Sycamore Street running north and south from LaSalle Avenue to the first east and .,rest alley North of LaSalleAvenue. The following, property may be injuriously or beneficially affected by such vacation: Lots numbered consecutively from twenty-two (22) to twenty-nine (29), both inclusive, as shorn on the recorded Plat of T=liller & Greents Second addition to the Town of Lowell, now a part of the . City of South Bend: also Lots numbered ten (10), eleven (11), and twelve (12) as shown on the orig- inal Plat of the Town of Lowell, and now a part of the City of South Bend. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 8th day of TIarch and on the 15th day of March, 1946 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the ': eekly Mirror. This Board at its office in the City Hall on the 25th day of March, 1946 at 11:00 A.I;I. .will hear and receive remonstraices from all persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. This was referred to the City Plan Comrlissior_ for investigation and report. DEDICATION '01HEREAS: a plat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon, is now presented to the Board, to be known as "Anthony's Addition" to the City of South Bend, Indiana; This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public ;forks and Safety in Role - 21, Drawer -#4 and recorded in Book t Pages 77� , in the Recorder's Office of St. Joseph County;
