T: Ilr. Casimer Balka, ,street Commissioner, was present and matters
pertaining to his department were discussed.
I.Ir. Balka informed the Board that his department was in need of several pieces
of equipment, and the Board directed him to draw up a list of the equipment needed
and bring it to their attention.
C METERY DEPARTI,ZENT: Tyr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters per-
taining to his epar tment were discussed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjournE
at 11:00 A.U.

A regular meeting of the Board of Public ':works was held on 11onday, February 18,.
1946 at 8:30 A.I,I. All members ib=ere present. Ylinutes of the last meeting were read
and approved. There were no claims of suppliers to be approved.
TRAFFIC DEPARTI,'IE'NT: 11r. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, waspresent and matters per-
taining to his department were discussed,
STREET DEPARTNIENT: Ir. Casimer Balka, Street Co .i.ssi over, was present and matters
pertaining to his department were discussed.
Mr. Balka submitted a list of needed equipment for his department and the Clerk
of the Board was authorized to advertise for bids to be opened and read up to 11:00
A.1111. on I.1arch 11, 1946 for the following items:. 3 tractors, 3 snow plows, one power
mower, one bulldozer, one power sewer cleaner, one crane and clasmshell, one street
sweeper and one bituminous mixer. The clerk was also directed to advertise for bids
to be opened at the same time for crushed stone, road oil, gravel, sand and gravel,
asphalt mixes and calcium chloride. '

A regular meeting of the Board of Public :forks Fiias held on Monday, February 25,
19 46 at 8:30 A.ISI. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read
and approved. Salary claims in the amount of 8,116.18 were approved and ordered
paid. There were no claims of suppliers to be approved. r

ENGINEERING DEPAR TLI ENT: No action having been taken by the City Plan_ Con fission on
the petition to vacate Sycamore Street, the: first alley running t and west from
Sycamore Street to the East Race and the First alley East of Sycamore Street running
Rorth and South from LaSalle Avenue ' to the first east and west alley North of LaSalle
Avenue, the Board took action and approved the vacation resolution and ordered the
resolution advertised for public hearing as follows:
