Zanuary 14, 1946
A regular meeting of the Board of Public :forks was held on. Monday, January 14,
1946 at 8:30 A.M. All members were present. I,Iinutes ,, of the last meeting were read
and approved. Salary claims in the mount of :�,8,102, 34 were approved a~i d ordered
paid. mere were no claims of suppliers to be approved.
TRAFFIC DEPART[ENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic 'engineer, was present and matters
pertaining to his department were discussed.
Mr. Miller discussed with the Board the proposed chaning' of Carroll Street from
two way traffic to a one way traffic street. No action was taken as the Board is to
take the matter under advisement and also to hear Mr. Obenchain and Tyr. Huggenard
before any decision is reached.
Mr. Miller was authorized to attent the Purdue Road School at LaFayette, Indiaia
on January 21 to 24 incluoive.
ENGINEERING DEPARUMENT: Excavation bonds were approved for Norman 'Oollmer, M6dow
Plumbing and :cleating Company and Phillip Cohn. These were ordered filed.
STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Casimer Balka, Street Commissioner, was present and matters
pertaining to his department were discussed.
CEeTETERY DEPARUEENT: Irlr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters per
tainzng to his Uepartment were discussed.
Mr. Leszczynski presented his annual report for the year 1945.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourn-`

A regular meeting of the Board of Public ''orks was held on lionday, January 21,
1946 at 8:30 A.TI.. All members were present. Minutes of the last `meeting were read
and approved. There were no claims of suppliers to be approved.
TRAFFIC DEPARTI,IENT: A petition was filed with the Board opposing one way traffic
on Carroll Street. This was referred to the Traffic Engineer.
ENGINEERING DEPA1R7L2ENT: A petition was received asking for the vacation of Sycamore
S reet and the - a ley running East and :Nest from Sycamore Street to the .East Race and
the first alley East of Sycamore Street running North and South from LaSalle Street
to the first North and South Alley North of LaSalle Street. This was.referred to
the City Plan Commission for investigation and report.
The Board approved the installation of a gasoline storage tank at the Northwest
corner of `lestern Avenue and Franklin Street for the Central .'lest Oil Corporation
upon a recommendation from Mr. Dalton I,ioomaiv, City Building Commissioner.
Excavation bonds were approved for Balbina Perkins d/b/a Harry Perkins and Co.,
Dewey Uilliford, Rudolph DePaepe and J. B. Fleck. These were ordered filed.
