Mr. Levy was absent. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Claims of the following suppliers in the amount of w8,754.36 were approved and ordered paid: S. T. Berner Agency Louis V. Mr. Miller informed the 3oard that he had received a request from the Hi -Spot for permission to hold a street dance on August 25th, at North LaFayette Boulevard and Lee Park, from 8 otclack till 11 o1clock. The Board granted permission to hold the dance but requested the Chief of Police to post men at that location. ENGINEEfING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's bonds in the amount of �1,000.00 were approved for Whitcomb & Keller, Inc., Michael Tomaszerrski and Son, Henry A. 'Strohl, and George A. Aslin. An Excavation Bond was approved for 0. E. Frame, d/b/a 0. L. Frame and Son. These were all ordered filed. STREET DEPART1,2N': %Nir. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Co=issioner, was present and matters pertaining to his department were discussed. CEMETERY DEPART11ENT: The Board ;ranted Stanley Leseezynski, Sexton, permission to take a week of his vacation from August 6 to August 13." NIr. Robert A. Brooks came before the Board to ask permission to enlarge and remodel a news stand he operates at the intersection of 'idashington and i:Iichigan Streets. The Board informed Mr. Brooks that they do not grant permission for the stands to operate, that they are merely allowed to be there, and that there have been requests from business men that the stands be removed, and therefore they refused his request.
