Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the amount of W,993,89 were approved and ordered paid. Claims of the following suppliers in the amount of $7,945.61 were approved and ordered paid: R. C. Larkin Company $4,436.00 Standard Automotive Supply 1.54 G. E. Meyer 2.92 Studebaker Corp. 13.38 Municipal Supply Co. 31388.00 Studebaker Corp. 44.81 The Ohio Oil Company 58.96 TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest IMiller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per- taining to his department were discussed. ij ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A Contractor's bond was approved for the Hatfield Electric Company and an Excavation bond in the amount of $1,000.00 was approved for Robert C. Hamilton. These were ordered filed. 11 STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski., Street Commissioner, was present and matters di pertaining to his department were discussed. Mr. Zmudzinski submitted plans and specii'ications for a grader and a street sweeper which were approved by the Board. They directed the Clerk of the Board to advertise for bids on same to be received up to 11:00 A.M. on May 14, 1945. 011METERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters perta to his department were discussed. There being no further business to come before the Board, at 10)00 A.M. May 7, 1945 the meeting was adjourned A regular meeting of the. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: An excavation bond in the amount of Al 000.00 was approved for the Dooley Electric Company and was of°dered filed. STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matters;' pertaining to his department were discussed. CEMETERY DEPARTItTENT: Mr, Stanley Leszczynkki, Sexton, was present and matters pertainj to his department were discussed. He presented his report for the month of April, 1945. Bills were presented by Ben H. Drollinger, Richard A. 1duessel and Roy J. Michael for services rendered in making appraisals and court appearances in the suit of Whitcomb & Keller, Inc., against the City of South Bend on appeal from the Boardts assessments in Resolution No. 2525. These bills, each in the amount of 0125.00, were approved by the Board, and were handed to the City Controller for payment from Refunds, Awards and Indemnities account of the City.
