HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/30/1945 Board of Public Works Minutes200 April 30, 1945 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, April 30, 1945 at 9:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the amount of 8,993#89 were approved and ordered paid. Claims of the following suppliers in the amount of V,945.61 were approved and ordered paid: R. C. Larkin Company $4,436.00 G. E. Meyer 2.92 Municipal Supply Co. 3,388.00 The Ohio Gil Company 58.96 Standard Automotive Supply 1.54 Studebaker Corp. 13.38 Studebaker -Corp. 44.81 TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest ?Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per- taining to his department were discussed. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A Contractor's bond was approved for the Hatfield Electric i Company and an Excavation bond in the amount of $1,000.00 was approved for Robert C. Hamilton. These were ordered filed. STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matters;; pertaining to his department were discussed. jj i Mr. Zmudzinski submitted plans and specifications for a grader and a street sweeperil which were approved by the Hoard. They directed the Clerk of the Board toadvertise for bids on same to be received up to 11:00 A.M. on May 14, 1945. He presented his report for the month of April, 1945. !j i Bills were presented by Ben H. Drollinger, Richard A. I;Iuessel and Roy J. LTichael for` ! services rendered in making appraisals and court appearances in the suit of Iiihitcomb & ilKeller, Inc., against the City of South Bend on appeal from the Board's assessments in s Resolution No. 2525, These bills, each in the amount of �w'125.00, were approved by the ;;Board, and were handed to the City Controller for payment from Refunds, Awards and ;Indemnities account of the City.
