STREET DEPARTMENT: A performance bond in the amount of $1000.00' was filed by the Stand
Gil Company and was approved by the Board.on their bid previously accepted by the Board
for Asphalt.

I� The following bids were received for paving mixes:
Taranoyl Company, Fixtix concentrate in drums containing
Chicago, 10, Illinois 400# at (F.O.B. Chicago) .26 lb.
Turftread Roads, Inc. Yukan Anti -strip concentrate in drums
Deerfield, Illinos containing 425# at (F.G.B. Deerfield) .28 lb.
Andresen Corporation, Xotal stablizer for bituminous mixes
Chicago, 45, Illinois in drums containing_425# (F.O.B. Chi.) .26 lb.
It was the decision of the Board to accept the bids of the `I'aranoyl Company and the
.Andresen Corporation.
CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr, Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining
Ito His department were discussed.
Mr. Leszczynski presented his report for the month of March, 1945.
There being no further business to comebefore the Board the meeting was adjourned

A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, April 9, 1945
at 9:90 A.M. All members were present. Salary claims in the amount of $9,372.05 were
4pproved and ordered paid. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Claims
of the following suppliers in the amount of $7,330.37 were approved and ordered paid:

TRAFFIC DEPARTIVENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per-
taining to his department were discussed.
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT:
jj . A sewer in an alley South of Colfax Avenue from St. Paul's Place west one-half
block was approved by the Hoard.
This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the award
of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of Vacation of the alley West
of Olive Street from Orange Street to the South line of the alley North of Grange Street
In the above named assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written re-
monstrances were filed, the Clerk o.f the Board submitted proofs of publication of notice
and same were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several lots
and parcels of land have been benefited and damages in the amounts shown on said roll.
The Board there, fore decides to take final action on said assessment roll and declares
same in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the pro-
11ceedings closed, and the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefits assessed
1 from the various property` owners so benefittedand all proceedings had with reference to
'Isaid alley vacation are hereby sustained.

Street under vacation resolution No. 2535.

and parcels of land have been benefitted and damages in the amounts shown on said roll.

STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Mnudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matters
ipertaining to his department were discussed.
Mr. Zmudzinski informed the Board that he was in need of a,grader and small sweeper
and the Board instructed him to get specifications ready for advertising.
CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining
to his department were discussed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned
at 11:15 A_M_

The Board authorized the Traffic Engineer to purchase two units from the Streeter-Amet
Company at $225.00 each, and eight two -unit and eight three -unit traffic counters from
the Denominator Company at 011.00 and 016.50 each respectively.
STREET DEPARTMENT** Bids were received for repairing the broken spindles on the Jefferson
Street bridge,_an the work was awarded to Herman Glaser, Jr., the Street Commissioner
was requested to notify Mr. Glaser to proceed with the work inmediately.
