Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, taining to his department were discussed. was present and matters per - Mr. I;Iiller informed the Board that the State Highway Commission of Indiana had agreed to make a metropolitan area survey for the City of South Bend after they have completed the survey in Indianapolis. :ENGIiVEERING DEPA zT.DIENT: An excavation_ bond in the amount of N1,000.00 was approved for Joseph 1,11. Hiznay and was ordered filed. CEMETERY DEPARTIZITT: D:r. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertaining to his department ,were discussed. A letter was received from .E. ,N. Resler, President of the Board, of Trustees of the Town of Nalkerton, Indiana requesting, per-11ission for a resident of their town to drive persons to the City of South Bend in his taxi. This was referred to I:r. Levy. j Representatives of various taxi cab companies were present at the sleeting, namely Mr. Bert Liss, Mr. Otto Entzian and Mr. Otto ITI orehouse, and also :Ir. `JIatterson of the Kb:rthern Indiana Transit Company with his Attorney, Mr. Al Johannes, to discuss,the use of station wagons in transporting fares, during the erlerg,ency. It was decided that no purpose would be gained by such a measure and the use of station wagons was not practical, so the use of them was denied. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 A.M.
