All members were present. Minutes of the last mee'ting were read and. approved. There were no claims to be approved. The bid for fleet insurance for Public Liability and Property Damage,of the Lloyd Insurance Agency in the amount of $411.78, was accepted as being the lowest bid. TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters perta I� ing to his department were discussed. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: An excavation bond in the amount of 5�1,000.00 was approved for Harry Ricodemus and was ordered filed. CF.VIETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertain- ing to his department were discussed. There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting was adjourned 10:00 A.M. January 8, 1945 A regular meeting of the Board of Public `Norks was held on Monday, January 8, 1945 at 9:00 A.M, All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Claims of the following suppliers in the amount of �540.91 were approved and ordered paid: Indiana & Michigan Electric Co. 36.84 B. J. :NlcCaffery, Postmaster 30.06 Indiana & :Michigan Electric Co. 179.98 Nor. Ind. Transit Company 25.00 B. J. I,TuCaffery, Postmaster 15.03 R. L. Polk Co. 234.00 C. F. Balka (Trans.) 12.50 Royal Typewriter Co. 20.00 TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest IJiller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per- taining to his department were discussed. ENGINEERING :DEPARTI,IENT: Excavation bonds in the amount of $1000.00 each were filed for A. H. Stuhmer, William H. Burke and 11illiam L. Turnock. These were ordered filed. REAS:ALplat:-,indic4t ngc. the dedication of a 30 f . strip off the East side of Nebster Street between Bruce Street and Donald Street and a 25' strip off the North side of Donald Street between Ike- ble Avenue and NebsterStreet to.,be used as a public way r is presented to the Board by the Housing Authority of the Lity of South amend, Indiana; NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public ;dorks and S5Lfety of the o it City of South Bend, that these strips of land dedicated to the public use are hereby approved and accepted by the said Board for, and on behalf, of the City of South Bend. The City Plan Corimiission having; approved the vacation of Oswald Court and the alley! running South from Oswald Court and the vacation of the East part of the alley or Court known as Alexis Ccurt, the Engineer was directed to prepare a vacation resolution1! for same. 1 The Public hearing on Vacation Resolution No. 2530", the vacation of the alley west of Hill Street was continued until the 15th day of January, 1945.
