The bids were referred the Street Department for tabulation and comparison with their
specifications and the award will be made at the next meeting of the Board on Monday.,
December 4, 1944.

Mr. Waterson of the Northern Indiana Transit Company was present at the meeting
and presented a letter from the Southwest Property Owners. Association asking for a
change in the bus route,in that direction. This,was referred to the Traffic Engineer
for investigation and report.
This being the date set for receiving bids for the installation of part of the
traffic signal systems of down town South Bend, and only one bid having been received;
said bid was opened and read as fellows:

This bid was referred to the Traffic Engineer for investigation and comparison
for a check of the individual items, and the award will be granted at a later meeting.
STREET DEPARTIrIENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matters{
pertaining to his department were discussed.

Bids were received last week and shown in the minutes of the Board for a sweeper '
of a type specified in specifications , and after consideting the bids received, the
Board determines to purchase one Guttersnipe Sweeper from the Municipal Supply Company
of South Bend at $3380.00, and one Payloader tractor shovel, from the Indiana Equipment
Company of Indianapolis, Indiana at 04436.00.
ENGINEERINCr DEPARTiSIENT : A Contractorts Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 was approved"
for Dewey Skeeters, and was ordered filed.
Excavator's bonds in the amount of�$11000.00 each were filed for Mitchel Kahn,
0-.'J. Shoemaker, Philip Cohn, Emil C, Spromberg, Louis $toll Company, Emmett Shaul,
Albert N Smith and Son and Hawblitzel Plumbing Company. These were ordered filed.
A petition was received asking for the vacation of the alley lying between Frances
Street and Eddy Street From 'Nashington Street to the North line of the alley running
east and west between Frances Street and Eddy Street and was referred to the City Plan
Commission for approval.

A petition was received arming for the vacation of Beale Street from Inglewood
to Kessler Boulevard, and was. referred to the City Plan Comriiission for approval.
