This was referred toil the City Engineer for investigation and report.. i �I The following resolution was received: j • RESOLUTION Be it resolved by the Southwest property owners association that the President of I' this Association,, acting as a committee of one, with such assistants as he may deem desi.-L"L able, shall present to the Board of Puboic 'ork_s and Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the consensus of this Association expressed in this reolution, and take such other steps as may be deemed needful to bring to realization the project hereby. endorsed,11i. e. : 1. To create, open and place to the service of t_le public Calvert Street from Kemble Street to Prairie Avenue. • 2. Douglas Street from Bruce, carried South to Donald Street. 3. T,"fi11i2��ns : !; With reference to your letter of September 5, 1944, regarding a vetition received from , the residents living in the vicinity of Calvert and Kimble Avenue, please be advised that this authority is at the present time preparing dedication for the North one-half (N- ) of Donald Street from Kimble Avenue to 'lebster Street and for the East one-half (E2) of !( "rebster Street from Donald Street to Bruce Street, these being the two perimeter streets) not fullJT dedicated at this time. • In regard to the streets within the interior of this project this authority does not feel that this is the proper time to dedic#te these streets. The future planning ofl this development has not as yet reached a stage whereby we can be certain as to what 173 • street lay -out will be necessary to the best interests of all concerned. There is no doubt in the minds of the commissioners that Calvert Street will at the proper time be dedicated its full width across the project development.
