Minutes of - the last meeting were read and approved. Salary claims in the amount of $25,907.45 were approved and ordered paid. This being the date set for receiving and opening bids for the purchase of Road Oil, and it now being 10:00 A.M., and only one bid having been received, Mr. Williams opened and read said•bid which was as follows: Oil Management, Inc. St. Louis, Mich. We are prepared to furnish you any amount of Cass County oil that you may be able to use at a price of 01.65 per barrel of 42 gallons, at the -well-, on the basis of the fluid as it comes from the well, showing a centrifugal test -that contains not more than 30% brine and b.-s., which is about the consistency that we believe would best meet your requirements. Said bid was accepted. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A Contractor's Bond in the amount of $1,000.00 was approved for E. T. Tranberg and was ordered filed._ VACATION RESOLUTION No. 2529 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BKD, IEDIANA, That it is desirable to vacate the following: The alley South of Jennings Avenue from Michigan Street, west, to the East side of the alley running North and South between Jennings Avenue and Dean Street. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such vacation Lots 19, 209 21, 22, 23 and 24 inclusive in. Beverly Heights -First Addition and Lots 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 inclusive, Lucy Tasher Addition. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 16th day of June and the 23rd day of June, 1944 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the Weekly Mirror. This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the loth day o-f July, 1944 at 10:00 A.M. (C.W.T.) will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. Mr. Miller was authorized to attend a Traffic Engineer's Meeting in Fort Wayne Indiana on June 15 and 16th. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszezynski, Sexton, was present and matters pert to his department were discussed.
