MEETING - FEBRUARY 21, 1944
A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, February 21,
1944" at 9:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read

Mr. Zmudzinski informed the Board that the Street Department was in need of severa
pieces of equipment and the Board requested him to make a list of the various items and
present it at the next meeting.
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: No action was taken on the matter of zuyvarding the contract for
the repair of the Jefferson Street Bridge.
TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters perta
ing to his department were discussed.
CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertain-
ing to his department were discussed.
There being no�further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourn
at 10:00 A.M.

STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matter
pertaining to his department were discussed.
The Clerk of the Board was authorized to advertise for bids on the following:
1 Power driven sewer cleaner and equipment
1 Tractor with mower and snow plow attachments
10 Car loads of RC3 or MC3 Cutback asphalt, Indiana State Highway Specifi-
cations, in one tank car load lots as needed.
These bids to be opened March 6, 1944.
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Permission for remodeling a cleaning establishment at the
corner of Carroll and Sample Streets was submitted to the Board. Approval was granted
for the construction of a coal bin uder the side walk and also approval was granted
for the installation of four grates over windows in the side walk area. The openings
in the grates to be not more than one-half an inch square.
TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters per-
