Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 17th day of December and the
24th day of December, 1943 in t he South Bend Daily Tribune and the lNeekly Mirror.
This Hoard at its office in the City Hall on the 10th day of January, 1944 at
10:00 a.m. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affecte
by these proceedings.

permission to install one U.S. Hoffman., Evquire 140 F Dry Cleaning Unit at 224,`s'Iest
7ashington Street, in accordance with plans and specifications attached. After fully
discuss ing the matter the plans were approved bT the Board..
TRAFFIC DEPAR7_'4?ENT: This being the date set to receive bids on one traffic control
for which three letters were sent to Dealers, two bids were received as follows:
Englewood Electric Cornpan�T - One Traffis Control-�'218.00 less 15
'McCaffery Electric Compan - One Traffic Control - 5218.00 less 15% and
terms 56 10th prox.
The bid was awarded to the icCaffery Electric -Company.

Mr. Zmudzinski, presented to the Board, a check for �1525.00 for the sale of 1
#10 Caterpillar Tractor and one 11 ton dump truck, and 635.00 for the sale of one
horse drawn McCormick T.Tower, in accordance with an ordinance passed by the Common Coun-
cil and an appraisal properly made.

STREET DEPAR:ENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and mattersl�
pertaining to his department were discussed.
Mr. "Zmudzinski presented to the Board 50..00 received from the sale of an old
Austin Western grader. This was in accordance with an ordinance passed by the Common
Council and an appraisal properly made.
1,1r. Zmudzi nski informed the Board that he was in need of commercial Caicium. Chlori
for use on the City streets, and the Clerz. of the Board was authorized to advertise
for bids on same.
ENGINEERING DEPARTroIENT: A Contractor's Bond in the amount of 81,000.00 was approved for
Harry Nicode-.lus and was ordered filed. An e.-.-cavation bond was a-p.proved for Thilman
Brothers and was ordered filed.
Mr. Williams presented the following letter to the BoJrd:

Consideration was given to the petition and remonstrances of a vacat on resolution
No. 2520, to vacate the alley North of Colf ax rvenue from Jacob Street to Twyckenham
Drive, and the vacation was denied. The balance of the advertising fund deposited
by the peitioner was returned.
An appraisal was submitted to t_le Board by the persons appointed to ayrrai se the
City owned gravel pit. This appraisal was accepted.
There being no farther business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourne
at 10:00 A.Y.
