STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matters
pertaining to his department were discussed.

Mr. Williams reported that he had not completed his report of the information
requested by the Board the Arnold Street

on railroad crossing.

I ENGINEERING DEPALiTP+TEN`': This being the date set, hearing was had on Imrpovement Resol-
ution No. 2524 for a local sewer on Duey Street from South Bend Avenue, north to the
North line of Hartman and Millers Addition and Hartman and Woodworths Addition.
In the above named improvement resolution, no remonstrators appeared and no written
remonstrances were filed, and the Board being fully advised in the premises, finds that
the benefits to the several lots and parcels of land liable to be assessed for said
improvement will be equal to the estimated cost of sane as reported by the City Engineer
and that the improvement is necessary. The Board, therefore, decides to take final

action on said improvement resolution and declares same in all things ratified, con-
firmed and approved without modification.
The. Board now orders that on the 8th day cf November, 1943 the Board will receive,
open and consider sealed proposals for the construction of said sewer up tq l0:00 A.M.
The.Board further orders that notice of said proposals shall be published on the 22 day
of October, and on the 29th day of October, 1943 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and
i the Vieekly Mirror, according to law.
A Contractors bond in the amount of $1,000.00 was approved for John Tamen. This,
war ..ordered f iled.

Mr. Levy informed the Board that certified checks which had accompanied bid bonds
• l of Korte Brothers and the Hickey 'Construction Company had been return by him.
CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Les zczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertain-
ing.to his department were discussed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: A petition was received for the construction of a local sewer
on West Uolfax Avenue from the alley East of Birdsell Street to Adams Street. This
was referred to the :engineering Department.
TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and several traffi
problems were discussed.
CEMETERY DEPART?d`ENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynski, Sexton, was present and matters pertain-
ing to his department were discussed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned

STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and
matters pertaining to his department were.discussed.
ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT Mr. O. D. Dausman, District Plant Engineer,.of the Indiana Bell
Telephone Company, appeared,before the Board and submitted plans showing the proposed
underground conduit and cable work on and South of East Jefferson Blvd., between St.
Joseph Street and Hill Street. These plans were.approved by the Board and -were ordered
placed on file. Mr. Williams directed a letter to the 'Telephone Company informing
them of this approval.
The.Board approved the plans and specifications for the construction of Access'
Road Project on Chippewa Avenue from Michigan Street to the Southmore Housing Project.
The Clerk of the Board was authorized to advertise for bids. Bids will be received
up to 10=:00 A.14. November.8, 1943 and will then be opened and read.
TRAFFIC ENGINEER: yMir. Ernest Miller, Traffic Engineer, was present and matters pertain
ing to his department were discussed.
Mr. Miller was authorized by the Board to attend a Traffic Signal School in
Syracuse, New York for one week starting November 22, 1943.
CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Stanley Leszczynskiy Sextons presented his report for the
month of October, 1943.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourne
at 10:00 A.M.
