Minutes of the last meeting were read and approv d. Salary claims in the amount of J9,Z63.69 were approved and ordered paid. Fund or the Interceptor Sewer I Edgar' Anderson Salary August 31' ' 1943 $62.`50 IlEdgar'Anderson Salary September 15, 1943 62.50 DEPARTMENT: Mr. Anthony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner, was present and matters ��STREET pertaining to his department were discussed. ii The Board further discussed the purchase of the asphalt distributor from Korte . lBrothers, but no action was taken. i ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Board approved`plans for paving the alley in the rear of lots 10-11-14-15 can in the alley west of Wilbur Street from California Avenue to ,IVassar Avenue. The Board approved the grade of the alley in the rear of lots #10-11-14-15 in the alley West of Wilbur Street from California Avenue to Vassar Avenue, The Board approved a plan showing the proposed drive on the East side of Lot #26 Hull's Subdivision at 1026 East Madison Street. The Board approved the plans for the installation of a local sewer on the alley • east of Kentucky Street from Washington Street to 182 feet North', and also the installs- 11tion of a sewer on Kentucky Street from Washington Street to the Manhole 182 feet North. �i This being the date set, hearing was held on the assessment roll showing the Iaward.of damages and the assessment of benefits in the matter of the vacation of 4.5 feet off the East side and 4.5 fleet off the West side of alley West of Twyckenham Drive from Chester Street to the Alley North of Mishawaka Avenue, reserving a five foot strip leentered on center line of said alley for a public Shay. II In the above assessment roll, no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances �1were filed, the Clerk of the Board submitted proofs of publication of notices and same (were found sufficient, and the Board, therefore, finds that the several lots and parcels • �lof land have been benefitted and damaged in the amounts shown on said roll. The Board, therefore, decides to take action on: said assessment roll, and declares ame in all things ratified, confirmed and approved without modification and the proceedings closed, sand the alley vacated upon receipt of the amount of benefit assessments from the various Ijproperty owners so benefitted and all proceedings had with reference to said alley ![vacation are hereby sustained. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 10:00 A.M. 'ATTES 2 er ADDENDA: ,ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The Board approved a Contractor's bond in the amount of $1,000.00 for John C. Van Bergen and an Excavation Bond for Balbina Perkins doing business as the ,Harry D. Perkins Company. These bonds were ordered filed. • i� Improvement Resolution #2524 Notice is hereby given that the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, at a meeting of said Board, held on the 13th day of September, 1943, adopted a resolution for the improvement of the following described property: For a sewer on Duey Street from South Bend Avenue, North to the North line of Hartman and Millers Additon and Hartman and Woodworth Addition, under improvement resolution No. 2524. Said Board will meet at 10:00 A.M. on the 18th day of October, 1943 at its office • in the City Hall and receive and hear remonstrances from all persons interested in, or affected by these proceedings and will decide whether the benefits to the property liable to be assessed for said improvement will equal the estimated cost thereof.
