I Upon motion duly made and seconded, the following resolution was adopted f RESOLVED: that as a settlement for breaking approximately 40 feet of sidewalk at 225 South Kaley Street, the Street Department will replace the sidewalk, provided • that the property owner purchases the necessary materials. ENGINEERING DEPA�L'TI,IENT: It was reported to the Board that the South Bend Sand and Grave,l Company operating the gravel pit immediately South of the gravel pit owned by the City, were approaching the property line between the two areas. Permission was requested by the South Bend Sand and Gravel Company to ex ract gravel from the City pit, sufficiently to complete operations on their property. Any gravel extracted from the City pit would be paid for at the rate of .ten cents (10/) per cubic yard. The, Board,upon motion duly made and seconded, unanimously approved this action and requested that an accurate check on the gravel tal-.en from the Cit�r nit be made. Ernest I.:ilier, Traffic Engineer. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: The following letter was presented to the Board: At the regular meeting of the Common Council May loth, Councilman Nie:zgodski made a :notion that the .Board of Public sJor'�s be notified to contact the Railroad Companies and work out some plan to take care of the crosswalks at the Railroad intersections. The motion was seconded by Councilman Korpal, and carried by unanimouse-,vote.
