A regular meeting of the Board
of Public ,,°corks was held on rdionday, October
5, 1942
at 9:00 A. Y. All members were
present.
Minutes of the last meeting were read
and
approved. Claims of the following
suppliers, in the amount of $1440.99 were approved
and ordered paid.

REET DEPAR PENT: Commissioner Tony Znudzinski was present and matters pertaining to his
partment were discussed.
ENGINEERING DEPARTM.,,ENT: The Board approved the plans for the new drive way on Center
Street at Polk Street to be installed by the Green Arrow Parking Co.
,The Board approved the plans presented by Chester L. Jankowski, for the new curb cut
parking and driveway for the Epworth Hospital,
The Board cello red a variance in its contract in the time for closing the Sample Stre t
�lbt,idge, moving same up to Tuesday, October 6, 1942, itrith the understanding that excepting
i�bad and freezing weather, the bridge will be reopened to traffic within two weeks from �
(this date, October 6, 1942.
D E D I C A T I O N
- HEREAS, a Dlat with dedication of streets and alleys indicated thereon, is now
presented to the Board, to be known as Belleville Gardens Block fIN" addition to the
City of South Bend, Indiana.
This plat and dedication is filed in the records of the Board of Public ':'corks and
Safety in Row 121, Drawer #4, File ; and recorded in Book #'15, Page B in the Recorder's
office of St. Joseph County.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public ";forks and Safety of South
Bend, Indiana, that all public streets, alleys and public placed dedicated to the
public use in said plat, are hereby accepted and approved by; said Board for and on
behalf of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
ELECTRIC DEPAR7YE'NT: A letter was received asking that the street light at Mishawaka
Avenue and Elverson Avenue be turned on. This petition was turned over to Mr. Qualls
for investigation and report.
Mr. De�Zuene of the Indiana Michigan Elec. Co. appeared before the Board regarding
the outage slips, and it was decided that the cutage slips be made in duplicate, one
copy of which is to be picked up by the Indiana Eichi"an Elec. Co., at 7:00 A. M.-each
morning and the other copy to be picked up by our Electric Department. No telephone
calls will then be necessary.
TRAFFIC DEPARTtENT: A letter was received from Harry,E. Rose, regarding traffic signals.
This letter yeas turned over to Mr. Miller, Traffic Engineer.
The City Hall will be closed Monday, October 12, 1942, this being Columbus Day.
