Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Claims of the following suppliers, in the amount of $890.24 were approved and ordered paid. A letter was received from the New York Central Railway Co. stating that temporary repairs had been made to their viaduct on Portage Avenue and further repairs will be made in the near future. ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: VACATION RESOLUTION #2517 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BENDr INDIANA: That, it is desirable to vacate the following: COURT ADJACENT TO W-T 382 FORDtS SUBDIVISION OF PART OF 2D PLAT OF RIVERDALE. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such vacation. Lot 382 Ford's Subdivision and lot #102 2d plat of Riverdale Addition. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 24th day of July and the 31st day of July, 1942 in the South Bend Tribune and the weekly Mirror. This Board, at its office, in the City Hall, on the loth day of August, 1942, at 10:00 A. M., will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by these proceedings. Adopted this 20th day of July, 1942. CLYDE E. WILLIAMS NATHAN LEVY HARRY S. DRICGS BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS A petition was received asking that the alley on Dorothy Street from Glen Street to Prairie Avenue be opened by grading, also the alley between Dorothy and Gertrude Street. This petition was turned over to the Engineering Department for investigation and report. Contractor's bonds were received for the following: Earl Milliken H. G. Christman Co. Michael Tomaszewski Edward Burton these bonds were approved and ordered filed. ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: The Board accepted the recommendation of Mr. Qualls to install a street light on Irvington Avenue, between Leer Street and Marine Street, and instructed him to order the light installed. TRAFFIC C0181ISSION: The Board instructed Mr. Miller, on his recommendation, to prohibit parking one block on the south side of Bertrand Street, Kenwood Street and Linden Avenue, from Bendix Drive to Kaley Street.
