Magaw 96,60 ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: An excavation bond was received for 0. E. Frame, in the amount of 1000.00. This bond was approved and ordered filed. Portage Realty Corporation file application for a license for a parking lot at the corner of Jefferson and Carroll Sts. This application was approved and turned over to the City Controller. A claim of $6.25 was allowed Frances Anderson, for a spring broken in a cut on E. La Salle Ave. A letter was received from John J. Lechner, Attorney -at -Law, asking that the St. Joseph County Associated Fraternal and Service Clubs, Inc., be allowed to park a float on the City streets from which chances could be sold. This petition was denied. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at 10:30 A. M. /? Z-- . MEETING -- JULY 13, 1942 A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held at 9:00 A. M. on July 13, 1942. Two members were present, Mr. Nathan Levy being absent. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Salary claims, in the amount of $8,063.06 were approved and ordered paid. Mr. Zi;udzinski turned over to the Board $6.00 received for use of the grader on the`lot of the Morris Trucking Co. A letter was received from N. C. Crabill advising that the flasher system on 30th Street is completed and ready for service and Mr. Zmudzinski was ordered to grade 30th Street so the railroad company may remove their fences and the street opened to traffic.. ENGINEERING DEPARTMONT: VACATION RESOLUTION 95�81 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: That, it is desirable to vacate the following: ALLEY SOUTH OF TASHER AVENUE from alley west of Michigan Street to Main Street. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such vacation: Lots 7 to 12 invlucive, Lucy J. Williams, City Civil Engineer advised the Board he had made an inspec- tion of the pavement on Windingwood Drive from Bercliff Drive westerly approximately 250 feet to the West line of Lot #24 and the pavement was found to meet the plans and specifications approved by the Board for type 11C11 pavements and recommends acceptance. A letter was received from the River Park Civic Assn. Inc. asking that provisions be made in the 1943 budget for the collection of ashes and refuse by the City, similar to the collection of garbage. A claim of $3.25 was allowed to S. F. McGee for damage to tare on December 24, 1941, An excavation bond was received from Baker & Spromberg: This bond was approved and, ordered filed. CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Lisle McNabb filed his financial report for the month of June, 1942 This report was ordered filed. There being no further business to come before the Board, 10:00 A. #C.
