Excavation bonds for 1941 and 1942 were received for George A. Aslin. These bonds
were approved and ordered filed.
TRAFFIC DIVISICN: Permission was granted to the St. Paults Church to have St. Paults
Court closed daily from June 22nd and continuing to and including July 3rd, for fifteen
minutes at 10:00 A. 1. to 10:15 A. M.

at 10:30 A. M.

I BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS
MEETING -- j-UNE 29, 1942
• ' A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held -.:on Monday, June 29, 1942"
at 9:00 A. M. Two members were present, Mr. Clyde Williams being absent. Minutes of
the last meeting were read and approved. Salary claims, in the amount of $10,417.17
were approved and ordered paid. Special W.P.A. salary claims, in the amount of $930.14
(were approved and ordered paid, and transportation charged in the amount of $125.00
jwere approved and ordered paid. Due to vacation schedule, the bills for the week of
jJune 29, 1942 were included in the bills for July 6 and paid with them.

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT: Contractor's bond was received for Edward J. Thomas, in the
amount of 1000.00. This bond was approved and ordered filed.
CIVILIAN DEFENSE: At the request of Francis Jones, Deputy Director of the St. Joseph
County Civilian. Defense Council, the Board approved the purchase of 5000 sheets of
mimeograph paper and two gas identification 'Sniffer" sets, for the use of the auxiliary
police and firemen and air raid wardens.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at
10145 A. M.
