MEETING -- NOVEMBER 10, 1941
A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, November 19, 1941
at 9:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the last meetingwere read and a pro -
p_
led. Claims of the following suppliers, in the amount -of $792.38 were approved and order-
ed g-aid.

The following claims, to be paid out of the Special 1I.P.A. fund, or the Interceptor
N.P.A. fund, in the amount of '01.14 were approved and ordered paid.

STREET DEPARTIMIENT: Mr. Tony Zmudzinski, Commissioner, presented the sweeping report for �

he week beginning November 3, 1941.
• M1 Zmudzinski presented to the Board, the two bids received for painting the under- �
Lructure and over -structure of the Hydraulic 'Bridge, which are as follows: I

Ij The Board accepted the bid of Jerry Jacobs,' contingent upon his getting the proper
nsurance.
The matter of the repair of the Sample Street bridge was discussed, and the matter was
turned over to Illr. Williams, City Engineer and' Mr. Tony Zmudzinski, Street Commissioner,
o see just what can be done about repairing same.

NGINEERING DEPART1;IFNT: A contractor's bond, in the amount of $1000.00 was received for
he D. C. Hay Co. Inc. This bond was approved and ordered filed.
Mr. Clyde Williams, City Engineer, filed primary assessment roll showing awards and
amages and assessments of benefits in the matter of the vacation of alley west of Frank-
in Street from Indiana Avenue to the alley north of Indiana Avenue.
The assessment roll and other records pertaining to this vacation are on file in the
bard of Public 1,1orks and Safety office, in Vacation Jacket #2509.
In the above named assessment roll, the Board 'hereby orders that it will meet in the
ity Hall at 10:00 A. I71. on the lst day of December, 1941, for the purpose of hearing
and receiving remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by said Vacation
esolution #2509, and the Board, further orders that notice of said hearing, together
with the amount of damages awarded and benefits assessed be addressed to the property
-vlmers by publishing same on November 14th and November 21st, 1941, in the South Bend
' iTribune and the Weekly Mirror.

The Board approved the plans for the pavement of Timber Lane as per plans and specifi-
ations submitted by the Engineering Department.
;ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Vim. Qualls, Superintendent, was present and matters pertaining
Po.his department were discussed.
EMETERY DEPARTMENT: Lisle McNabb, Sexton, presented his financial report for the month
f October, 1941. This report was ordered filed.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at
0 : 30 A. M.
