VACATION OF ALLEY #2510
RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF r_`UBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: That it
is' desirable to vacate the following;,
ALLEY WEST OF FRANKLIN STREET, from Indiana Avenue to the alley North of Indiana
Avenue.
The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such vacation:
Lots 1, 2, 4, & 5 Stullts 4th Addition.
Notice of this resolution shall be published on the loth day of October and on the
17th day of October, 1941, in the South Bend Daily Tribune and the weekly Mirror.
This Board at its office in the City Hall on the 3rd day of November, 1941 at 10:00
A. M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or affected by
these proceedings.
Adopted this 29th day of September, 1941.

-' Plans for tl e =remodeling of the building at #/24 N. Main Street were submitted to
the Board. The Board approved of the construction of a canopy to this building that
extendsone (1) foot from the face of the building at a point nine (9) feet above grade.
The building face is approximately three (3) inches back of the building line, making
the encroachment approximately 9tt. These plans were submitted by the Roseland Construc-
tion Co.
ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: A petition was receivedasking for a street light at the intersec-
tion of Donald St., and Hoke St. also a petition for a street light at the intersection
of North Side Blvd. and 26th St. and a petition for two street lights on Evergreen.Lane.
These petitions were turned over to Mr. Qualls for investigation and report.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned

MEETING -- OCTOBER 6, 1941

A regular meeting of the Board of Public Works was held on Monday, October 6, 1941,
at 9:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and .
approved. Claims of the following suppliers, in the amount of $274.55, were approved
and ordered paid.

and #17, Rupels
First Addition.
The Board rejected the claims of D. J. Kelly and Mrs. Chas. E. Hoose on S. Scott
t., for reseeding parkway, after the new sewer and pavement were finished.
Mr. John Kelly of the Pepsi Cola Co.. 710 Niles Ave., appeared before the Board,
sking that two men, dressed up as Pete"and Pepsi be allowed to walk on the streets.
Lie request was granted.

MEETING -- OCTOBER 61 1941
STREET DEPARTMENT: Mr. Tony Zmudzinski, Commissioner was presented. He presented the seep-
ing report, for the week beginning September 29, 1941.
ELECTRIC DEPARTMENT: Mr. Qualls was authorized to install a street light at the inter-
section of Gladstone Avenue and Ford Street, the need of which was indicated in his repor
to the Boar.
CEMETERY DEPARTMENT: Mr. Lisle McNabb presented his financial report, for the month of
September, 1941.
The offices of the City Hall will be closed on IaZonday, October 13, 1941, which is
Columbus Day.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned at
10:30 A. M.
