Sewer Repairs completed ahead of schedule
The City of South Bend is pleased to announce that main line sewer repairs on Fellows Street
have been successfully completed. Fellows Street, between Haney Avenue and Indiana Avenue was
re-opened today at 10 am, according to Ed Gleckler, Manager of Traffic & Lighting. Originally, the
work was expected to be completed late Thursday.
“Through the use of special monitoring technology our crews discovered a potential problem in
the main sewer line. During regular cleaning of the lines last week, these special cameras identified
the problem area and we were able to correct it proactively, avoiding a potentially bigger, more costly
repair later,” said Josh Pemberton of the Division of Sewers.
The City appreciates the cooperation of residents and motorists in the area, noting that the work
was able to proceed quickly and efficiently, without any problems.
