RESOLUTION
No. 3 - - 62
WHEREAS, the need for further public housing in
the City has been questioned, and
WHEREAS, sufficient information regarding the
effect of the Urban Renewal Program of the Chapin Street
area on the need for public housing for displaced persons
of this area, and the Sample Street Renewal area,now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Executive Director of the
Urban Renewal Commission and the Executive Director of
the South Bend Housing Authority be directed to give to
the Common Council and each member thereof, the last
information on the following subjects:
(1) The number of persons relocated and to be
relocated by the Urban Renewal Commission in the
Sample Street area.
(2) The number of persons to be displaced by the
Chapin Street Urban Renewal Project and the number
of these persons who will be eligible and/or in
need of public housing.
(3) The number of persons who have registered for
public housing with the South Bend Housing Authority
and who have not been accomodated.
