R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, MELVIN J. VOELKEL, formerly a member of the
South Bend Police Force, and attached to the City Court for the
past several years, has departed this life; and
WHEREAS, he has served his community and his fallow-man
in many ways to their benefit; that in addition to his activity
in his official capacity, his work in philanthropy, lodges and
clubs is known to all the citizens of our community and its
environs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, that the members thereof go on
record expressing their sadness at the loss of "Jack"Voelkel
and that a copy of this Resolution, duly authenticated by the City
Clerk be spread upon the records of this Council, and a copy of same
be sent to his widow, Beatrice Voelkel.
