RESOLUTION RELATIVE TO IMPROVEMENT
PROGRAM IN AN AREA OF THE SOUTHEAST
PART OF THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Analysis recently prepared by the
Area Plan Commission, recommends various governmental action
to arrest blight and deterioration within the City of South Bend, and
WHEREAS, said Neighborhood Analysis designates the general area
south of the central business as requiring immediate attention, and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council recognizes that a program should
be undertaken to rehabilitate and renew this area:
NOW, THEREFORE, the Common Council requests the Redevelopment
Commission to initiate steps to investigate and develop an Application
for a Neighborhood Development Program covering the general area
located south of the central business district with priority consideration
given to the area generally referred to as the Ohio-Keasey area.
