Mayor RESOLUTION NO . 3 s a- ?3 A RESOLUTION FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION IN ACCOUNT NO . P-722, "MOTOR EQUIPMENT" IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $6,000 .00 , AND THE TRANSFER OF SAID SUM FROM ACCOUNT NO . P-724 , "RADIO EQUIPMENT" , BOTH ACCOUNTS BEING IN THE "PROPERTIES" CATEGORY AND BOTH WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND. WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the existing annual budget , so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was appropriated in the annual budget for the various functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary conditions ; and WHEREAS, additional funds are needed for Account P-722, "Motor Equipment" , to enable the Police Department to complete the purchase of their 1973 fleet cars under bids which have been received, and for costs for special equipment; to assure the department 's ability to properly perform its functions ; and WHEREAS, a surplus exists in another account where it is not presently needed as a new radio system has been approved under an Indiana Criminal Justice Agency grant . This surplus is shown more specifically as follows , to-wit : $6,000 .00 in Account P-724 , "Radio Equipment" NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana: SECTION I . Seals Chief of Police February 8, 1973 Board of Public Safety County - City Building 227 West Jefferson Boulevard South Bend, Indiana 46601 Gentlemen: I would like to request the following budget transfer: From account P-724, Radio Equipment, to P-722, Motor Equipment, the amount of $6,000.00. This is to enable us to complete the purchase of our 1973 fleet under the bids received on the date of January 15, 1973. Additional costs for special equipment require the additional funds over and above our approved 1973 budget. Account P-724 can be used as our Grant request for a new radio system has been approved by the Indiana Criminal Justice Agency for our Phase I effort. Sincerely, Robert W.
