The new Fire Station No. 4 is rapidly nearing completion and will soon
be available for occupancy by the Fire Department. At the time the
Fire Department occupies this new building, the old stations at 2222
Lincoln Way West and 1210 West Thomas Street will become surplus
property, and will not be needed by the City of South Bend. It is the
recommendation of the Board of Public Works that these parcels be
advertised for sale.
The attached resolution is being forwarded for your review and action
regarding this sale.
I would appreciate having this matter placed on your agenda at the
next Council meeting so that the Board of Public Works may proceed with
this matter in accordance with your action at the earliest possible
date.
Very truly yours,
Rollin E. Farrand, P. E.
Director
