The parking lot has frontage along the east-west portion of Bendix and is in general disrepair. The parking lot and portions of a chain link fence will be removed to provide additional green space, complementing surrounding park land (Kennedy Park). This project complements City Plan by removing an impervious surface and reducing storm water run-off. Scope of Work: The Board of Public Works, acting on behalf of the Redevelopment Commission per the proposed Agency Agreement, will develop bidding specification, bid the project per applicable statutes, award the project, and monitor construction/demolition activities. The Board of Public Works will consult Catherine Toppel (Director of Code Enforcement) and Jeff Vitton (representative of the Redevelopment Commission) for approval of bidding specifications and change orders. Project is not to exceed $180,000 in cost. Source of Funds: Airport Economic Development Area Tax Increment Finance District. Timeline: The project is anticipated to be complete by May 30th, 2010. Legal Description: A parcel of land located in the West one half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 3, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, Portage Township, City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana and being a part of Kennedy Park and is more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the North right of way line of Bendix Drive and the East right of way line of Goodland Avenue; thence North 360 feet, more or less, to a line of utility poles; thence East along said pole line a distance of 245 feet, more or less, to a fence; thence South along said fence line a distance of 175 feet to a point where the fence turns East; thence East along said fence line a distance of 230 feet, more or less to a City sidewalk; thence South along said sidewalk and another fence line a distance of 163 feet, more or less to the North right of way line of Bendix Drive; thence West along said North right of way line a distance of 450 feet to the place of beginning. RESOLUTION N0.2616 RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN ADDENDUM TO THE MASTER AGENCY AGREEMENT (NW Corner of Bendix and Eclipse -Parking Lot Removal) WHEREAS, effective January 1, 2009, the South Bend Department of Redevelopment, acting by and through its Redevelopment Commission (the "Commission") and the South Bend Board oi' Public Works (the "BPW'") entered into a Master Agency Agreement which authorized the BPW to act as agent for and on behalf of the Commission for certain projects during 2009; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the Master Agency Agreement, the Commission desires to add the NW Corner of Bendix and Eclipse -Parking Lot Removal to the Master Agency Agreement by way of this Addendum. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission as follows: Section 1. The Commission hereby approves the Addendum to Master Agency Agreement (NW Corner of Bendix and Eclipse -Parking Lot Removal) and hereby authorizes its execution in substantially the foi-~n attached hereto with such changes as the Commission may deem necessary or appropriate upon the advice of counsel, said execution thereof to be conclusive evidence of the Commission's approval of such changes. The Clerk is hereby directed to file a copy of the Addendwn with the BPW. Section ?. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect after its adoption by the Commission. All of the tei7ns and conditions of the Master Agency Agreement shall control this appointment and this Addendum shall be attached to the Master Agency Agreement.
