It was discussed that the County is tightening its tethering law to three (3) hour intervals
(St. Joe County Enforcement) as well as changing zoning laws.
It was announced that the South Bend Animal Care and Control should have a new
manager in the next week.
The commission dicussed adding internal temperature readings to the ordinance. They
referred to Councilmembers Dr. David Varner, Tim Scott and Randy Kelly regarding the
ordinance revisions.
The commission requested reports for the number of adoptions, KPI numbers, bites, etc.
Stephanie Steele, Legal Department, wants an attorney from the Legal Department to sit in
of the commission meetings.
Over the past weekend at the Michiana Pet Expo, t- shirts were sold, and about $400 was
made. A fourteen (14) year old puggle was also adopted.
The commission is anticipating a case for next month (November.)
The next meeting is scheduled for November 1, 2016.
The meeting adjourned at 7:03 p.m.
