RESOLUTION NO. 563 -77
RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SOUTH BEND SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A
DOWNTOWN URBAN MALL
WHEREAS, the City of South Bend has embarked upon the
development and revitalization of the South Bend Central Business
District; and
WHEREAS, local developers have shown an interest in develop-
ing a downtown urban mall within the South Bend Central Business
District; and
WHEREAS, during the development of a downtown urban mall it
may become necessary for the public sector to participate by providing
services or facilities; and
WHEREAS, such a downtown urban mall would be advantageous to
the future growth and development of the City of South Bend; and
WHEREAS, the success of any such project requires total commu-
nity participation and support; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend is
interested in promoting development of the Cental Business District,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the
City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. That the Common Council of the City of South Bend
supports and is in favor of the development of a downtown urban mall
within the Central Business District of the City of South Bend.
SECTION II. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage by the Common Council of the City of South
Bend, Indiana.
