Mayor RESOLUTION NO. 602 -77 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA APPROVING THE CENTURY CENTER BOARD OF MANAGERS ENTERING INTO A (5) YEAR CONTRACT FOR THE LEASING OF THE THEATRE LIGHTING FOR USE AT THE CENTURY CENTER. WHEREAS, it is essential to the success of Century Center for the theatre to have all its operating equipment in use as soon as possible, and WHEREAS, it would be beneficial both operationally and fiscally for the Board of Managers to enter into a (5) year lease for the lighting for use in Century Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend that: SECTION I. The Century Center Board of Managers are hereby approved and authorized to enter into a (5) year lease contract for the lighting equipment at Century Center in a maximum amount of Three Thousand Three Hundred and Thirty -Three Dollars and Seventy - Seven Cents ($3,333.77) per month for sixty (60) months, with the option to purchase at One Dollar ($1.00). SECTION II. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. WHEREAS, it is essential to the success of Century Center for the theatre to have all its operating equipment in use as soon as possible, and WHEREAS, it would be beneficial both operationally and fiscally for the Board of Managers to enter into a (5) year lease for the lighting and audio equipment for use in Century Center. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend that: SECTION I. The Century Center Board of Managers are hereby approved and authorized to enter into a (5) year lease contract for the lighting and audio equipment at Century Center in a maximum amount of One Hundred Sixty -five Thousand ($165,000) Dollars plus interest. SECTION II. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. This will be a long term contract of (5) years and will be paid on a monthly basis from revenues derived from operations at Century Center. The Board of Managers has advertised for bids on the lease and will open the sealed bid at a Special Board Meeting on December 19, 1977. For the meeting of the Council on December 19, 1977, they should be able to indicate the best bid received. Your approval of this resolution will be appreciated.
