A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday,
December 1191961 at 10:00 A.M. CST. All members were present. Minutes
of the last regular meeting and the special meeting were read and approved.
Vouchers were approved and -ordered paid to the various suppliers.
ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT ( STREET LIGHTS)
Following the recommendation of Nicholas Horvath, Superintendent of the
Electrical Department, the following installations were approved:
1 4,000 lumen light at Black Drive and Edison Road 4 1 ,000 lumen light at Okkridge Drive and Edison
1 4*000 lumen light at 1027 N. College Street.
1 41000 lumeh light at the 4400 Block S. Miami Street
1 6,000 lumen light at Ireland,Road and Miami Street (S.W. Corner)
1 4,000 lumen light at Clayton Drive and Miami Street
1 49000 lumen light at Clayton Drive and Echo Drive

LETTER FROM INDIANsA & MICHIGAN ELECTRIC CO. TO FIRE CHIEF
A letter from J. Benson Bally Division Manager of the Indiana & Michigan
Electric Company to the Fire Chief was presented to the Board. Mr.
,.a Ball congratulated the Fire Department for their assistance in an
emergency at the Indiana & Michigan Company's offices on the night of
December 1, 1961.
The letter was reviewed by the Board and ordered placed on file.
SPECIAL POLICE BOND
A Special Police Bond for Glen Francis Lowry was approved by the Board and
ordered placed on file.
POLICE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION
An application for the Police Department from Thomas William Peters was
accepted and ordered placed on.file.
FIRE DEPARTMENT APPLICATION
An application from Robert Valentine Chrzan for the Fire Department was
accepted and ordered placed on file.
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORT
A Street Light Outage Report was accepted and ordered placed on file.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT MONTHLY REPORT
A Monthly Report for November, 1961 from the Building Department was
accepted and ordered placed on file.
BUILDING DEPARTMENT - SUB -STANDARD DIVISION ( HEARINGS)
Comes now Rev. Bowles and declares that he was requested to be present
at the Board meeting on this date.
Inasmuch as Vernon Lane and John Grabarz.are out of the city attending a
conference, the hearing was continued until December 18, 1961.

The Clerk of the Board reported that children are skating on a pond
at McKinley which constitutes a hazard.
The Board, after hearing the facts, instructed the Traffic Engineer to
erect signs at this site. Such signs to read: "No Fishing, No Swimming,
No Skating."
There being no further business to come before the Boardq the meeting
was adjourned at 10:30 A.M.
