August 7, 1961
A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, August
7, 1961 at 10:00 A.M. DST. All members were present. Minutes of the last
regular meeting were read and approved. Minutes of the Special Meeting
were alsoiread and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to -the
various suppliers.
STREET LIGHT PROPOSAL - INDIANA & MICHIGAN ( W. SAMPLE BETWEEN MICHIGAN
AND LAFAYETTE)
A Proposal and Print to install a new street lighting system on West
Sample Street between Michigan and Lafayette, which will conform with the
system installed in 1960 on East Sample Street was submitted�to the Board.
The project proposes the following:
Install - 9-159000 Lumen Incandescent Lamps on steel poles at
$7.20 per mo. $64.80
Remove - 4 - 49000 3umen Incandescent Lamps on wood poles at
$2.60 per mo. 10.40
Added cost per month $54.00
Added cost per year $652.80
The Proposal was accepted by the Board and will be taken under advisement
with the Electrical Department.
ELECIMICAL DEPARTMENT.
Following the recommendation of Rober DeClercq, Asst. Supt. of the Electrical
Department, the Board approved the installation of a 4000 lumen street lamp
in the 5100 Block of Greenleaf Lane. 0
PETITIONS FOR STREET LIGHTS
The following Petitions for street lights were referred to the Electrical
Department for investigation and recommendation:
Goodland Avenue '-between Bonds Avenue to Green Street.
Vernerlee Lane from'Kettering Street to Rose Street (corner of Vernerlee Lane
and Rose Street.)
STREET LIGHT OUTAGE REPORTS
Street Light Outage Reports were accepted and ordered placed on file.
TRAFFIC ENGINEER (TRAFFIC SIGNS)
The following installatins of Traffic Signs were approved by the Board:
Stop Sign installed on Marshall St., northeast corner, at 33rd St.
Stop Sign installed on Bulla Road, both sides, at Huey Street.
Yield Right -of -Way sign installed on Lafayette, southeast corner, at
Angela Blvd.
Stop Signs installed on Par&ovash,=both sides, at Iroquois St.
No Parking This Side signs installed on east side of 900 Block of
Humphreys Court
BUILDING DEPARTMENT (MONTHLY REPORT)
The Monthly Report for the month of July, 19619 from the Building Department
was accepted and ordered placed on file.
APPLICATION POLICE DEPARTMENT)
An application for°the Police Department from Edward Jerzak, Jr. was.
accepted and ordered placed on file.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was
adjourned at 10:30 A.M.
