A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF SOUTH
BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUB-
MIT TO THE NATIONAL HISTORICAL PUBLICATIONS
AND RECORDS COMMISSION, A GRANT APPLICATION
FOR DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH FUNDS FOR THE
ORGANIZATION OF THE STUDEBAKER CORP. ARCHIVES
DISCOVERY HALL MUSEUM.
WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of South Bend is the Chief
Executive Officer of the City, and is the Applicant for a Development
Grant for Discovery Hall.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of
the City of South Bend, Indiana:
SECTION I. Hereby established the authority of the Mayor
of the City of South Bend to submit an application for Development and
research funds in the amount of $18,075.00.
SECTION II. The Director of Discovery Hall will be
designated the Administrative Agent for this project. For every
category established under this Resolution, Director of Discovery
Hall shall submit to the Common Council a line item budget prior
to the expenditures of any grant money received upon approval of
this application.

I am presenting a resolution, approving the grant applications for funds
in the amount of $18,075.00 from the National Historical Publications and
Records Commission, at the meeting on August 28, 1978.

These funds would be used to hire personnel and supplies for a one year
period to complete the vast task of arranging and cataloging the recently
donated Studebaker Corp, Archives, and publishing findings. It is the City's
intent to match these funds in an inkind manner using the 1978 budget.
