HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/20/60 Board of Public Works MinutesJune 20, 1960 A regular meeting of the Board of Public.Safety was held on Monday, June 20, 1960 at 10:00 A.M. Mr. Irving Smith was not present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. Vouchers were approved and ordered paid to the, various suppliers. Comes now Nicholas Horvathof the_ELedtrical_Engineering Department with a petition for the installation of a 4000 lumen street light at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Riverside Place. Mr. Horvath recommended that this be installed. The Board so approved said petition. In accordance with instructions of the Board, John Grabarz, Director of the Sub -Standard Building Division of the Building Department appeared before the Board with Mr. Fair, representing the property at 522 E. Keasey Street. Mr. Fair asked for a 90 day period during which time he states he can have the first and second floors of the Building at the Keasey Street address in satis- factory condition, in accordance with the Building Department's order. In accordance with this request, the Board granted a 90 day extension and the ca'se will be continued until the regular meeting of September 19, 1960. Comes now John Grabarz, of the Sub -Standard Division of the Building Department and asks permission to advertise for bids to board up a structure located at * 523 N. St. Joseph Street for the protection of the property. After due consideration, the Building Department was authorized to so advertise and request wad granted. Upon the recommendation of Police Chief J. Charles Dutrieux, permission was granted Captain John F. Kasprzak to attend the Annual Conference -of the International Association for Identification to be held July 24, 1960 through July 28, 1960 at Houston, Texas. The monthly report covering the month of May, 1960, from the Police Department was examined and ordered placed on file. A Street Outage Report was presented by the Police Department, examined and ordered placed on file. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 11:00 A.M.
