A regular,meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, February 8, 1960
at 10:00 A. M. All members were present. Minutes of the regular meeting of February 1,
1960 were read and approved.
Applications for the Fire Department are placed on file for Jerome Badur, Frank Glon,
Kay James, Jerome Gyoles, and Robert Snider.
Comes now Edward L. Bergan, Lt. of the Detective Bureau and submits to the Board his
resignation from the South Bend Police Department to become effective the 21st day of
February," 1960. Approved and accepted this 8th day of February, 1960.
The monthly report of the Weights & Measures Department submitted by Bert S. Cichowicz,
City Sealer, is hereby accepted and placed on file.
The Board hereby grants to Rev. Bowles a 30 day period in which to submit plans for the
repair of his building located at 318 Iowa Street. It is understood that these plans
must meet with the Building Code standards. Hearing to be held on March 7, 1960.
Comes now Chief Andrzejewski of the Fire Department and requests permission for himself
to attend the annual meeting of the Indiana Fire Chief's Association on Monday, February 15,
1960 and further for permission for Bn. Chief to attend the Planning Session of the Fall
Fire School at Purdue University on Tuesday, February 9, 1960.

1211 Mishawaka Avenue, rear alley, 2500 lumen light
Huey and Werwinski Streets
The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and the bids for the Fire and
Police Departments were opened and read aloud. Proofs of publication in the South Bend
Tribune with an affidavit signed by Robert DeLong and in the Record with an affidavit
signed by E. H. Hickey were submitted to the Board and found sufficient:
