A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Wednesday, December 30,
1959 at 2:00 PM. All members were present.
T He Board hereby approves the appointment of Frank Lebiedzinski, Joseph Galeziewski,
and Joseph Herczeg to the Fire Department of the City of South Bend, Indiana. Said
applicants having passed all required written examinations and the physical examina-
tion by the City Doctor and further having been accepted for membership in the Fire-
men's Pension Fund, their appointment shall become effective as of January 12 1960.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned
at 2:15 P.M.

A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Thursday, December 31,
1959 at 12:45 �.M. All. members were present.
The following action was taken by the Board this date for the demotion of
Department members. That Edmund Dobski be demoted from Captain to Lieutenant, Alex
Niespodziany from Lieutenant to Private, and Ray Gorski from Lieutenant toPrivate.
Promotions were approved for Steve Hegge from Lieutenant to Captain; Stanley Zielinski
from Lieutenant to Captain; Ray Bikowski from Lieutenant to Captain; Rene Baetsle from
Private to Lieutenant; James Humphrey from Private to Lieutenant; Clayton Wroblewski
from Private to Lieutenant; and Leo Banacki from Private to Lieutenant. Said demotions
and promotions all effective the 1st day of January, 1960.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned
at 12:55 A.M.
