Nick Horvath, Elec. Superintendent, recommends the installation of the following
street lights:
4000 lumen on 1016 East Dubail Street
Permission is hereby granted to Captain Trevey and Officer McDaniel of the Civil
Defense Department to attend a school on Radiological Administration at Battle
Creek, Michigan from April 27 to May 1, 1959.
The monthly report of the Police Department is hereby accepted and placed on file
in the office of the Board. This report is for the month of March, 1959.
The Board now adopts the recommendation of the Chief's office of theSouth Bend
Police Department that the Special Police commission granted by the Board on Sept. 12
1958 to Hubert C. Dean, 54341 Quince Road be revoked based upon evidence of records
indicating that said Dean was recently convicted in our South Bend City Court of dri-
ving while under the influence of intoxicating liquors, and secondly he has had his
driving permit revoked for a period on one year. Therefore, the Police Department
is directed to obtain from said Dean his badge and further any and �11 credentials
pertaining to his commission and also inform his that his license has become in-
effective immediately.
The Board hereby accepts and approves the decision of the Board members of the
Firemen's Pension Fund to grant Frank Regard a monthly disability pension of
$231.36 or fifty--fiv.e percent of a fully paid first class firemen's salary.
The granting of this monthly allotment is pursuant to a law made and provided
for the disability retirement phase of the pension fund and shall become effec-
tive May 11 1959.
Comes now Mr. Wrzsin, 1618-20 Dunham Street in regards to a condemnation order
on a structure located at said'address and Mr. Wrzsin at this time requests per-
mission to have this building brp.ught up to Building Code standards to comply with
the City ordinance. The Board therefore requests that Mr. Wrzsin submit Plans and
Specifications for Pepairing to the Building Department for approval on or before
the 27th day of April, 1959 and further that work on this project will be completed
no later than July 6, 1959.
The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and the bids for the City
Electrical Inspection Department were opened and read aloud. Proofs of publication
in the South Bend Tribune with an affidavit signed by C. DeLong and in The Record -
with an affidavit signed by W. DeCanio were submitted to the Board and found suffi-
cient. The single bid rec$ived reads as follows:
Stanley Body.and Equipment Corp. A non-collussion affidavit and a certi-

South Bend, Indiana accompanied the bid.
One (1) #104 Stahl Utility Body 104" long equipped with
494152 32' Keystone Aerial Ladder
Total bid price ------- $2,239.40
The bid having been examined and found sufficent is hereby awarded to said Stanley
Body and Equipment Corporation.
There being no further business to come before th eBoard, it was so announced and
the meeting was called adjourned at 10:45 A.M.
