Following is a letter submitted to the Board. Acknowledged and placed on file.
Board f Public Safety
City Hall
South lend 1, Indiana
On Tue day night, March 10, at 1:30 A. M. Officer Foy of the South Bend Police Depart-
ment,t lephoned me at my home to tell me that he had found the back door of our busi-
ness a tablishment unlocked. I came down immediately and the office and made an in-
specti n, and determined that no illegal entry had been made and that everything was
in gooc order.
This incident reminded me that we have had uniformly courteous and efficient treatment
from the South Bend Police Department in the past in the handling of various trouble-
some situations or persons. South Bend is fortunate to have so good a police force.
Enclosed is a remittance of $25.00, made payable to the Police Pension Fund, as a
token of our appreciation for all courtesies extended us in the past.
Very truly yours,
Louis V. Bruggner for
Bruggner's Cigar Store and
Bruggner's Book Store
