A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, March 9, 1959
at10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting
were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of $2205.83 were approved and
ordered paid to the following:

submits to the Board the monthly
report
of the Weights & Measures Department for February, 1959. Accepted and
placed on
file.
Applications for the Police Auxiliary School Patrol were approved and placed on
file for Frances Lein.
Applications for the Police Department were accepted and placed on file for Robert
Jaronik.
Nick Horvath, Elec. Department Superintendent, recommends the installation of the
following street lights:
4000 lumen light at 410 E. South Street
4000 lumen light at 3902.W. Sample Street
4000 lumen light at 125 Dundee Street
4000 lumen light at 2200 block W. Bertrand St.
Indrease 1000 lumen light at 419 E. Pokagon to 2500 lumen.
The Clerk of the Board is directed to advertise for 6 vehicles for the Police Dept.
Hearing scheduled for today reference to structure located at 2214 Western Avenue is
hereby continued for 30 days. Hearing had on representation by the owner(James Tsalikis)
and tenant that condemnation of structure will be completed by that date. Date is set
for April 13, 1959.
Capt. Trevey of the Civil Defense department hereby submts a report reference to his
trip to Department of Health, Education and Welfare in Chicago regarding the possibili-
ty of obtaining certain surplus property. Permission now granted to Mr. Trevey to pro-
ceed to Indianapolis for further information.
The bid for the Weights and Measures Department is hereby awarded to Freeman Spicer Co.
for the total amount of $1,643.96.
There being no further business to come before theBoard, it was so announced and the
meeting was called adjourned at 10:45 A.M. A
