Special police applications are now approved for Wilbur Thomas, Willard Blake,
Elmer J. Coil and Robert L. Seals.
Applications for the Police Auxiliary School .Patrol were approved for Helep Klysz
and placed on file.
Applications for the Fire Department were examined and placed on file for Ronald
Spencer, and applications for the Police Department were examined and placed 6n
file for Fred Johnson.
The monthly report for January, 1959 of the City Police Department is hereby ex-
amined and placed on file.
The bid for the Police Department is hereby awarded to Newman Altman as follows:
Newman Altman Company A non-collusion.affidavit and a certi-

South Bend, Indiana accompanied the bid.
One (1) 1959 Studebaker Lark V8 4-door deluxe sedan
Total net price ----$ 49676.93
There being no other business to come before the Board, it was so announced and
the meeting was called adjourned at 10:45 A.M.

A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, March 2, 1959
at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular meeting

Newburn.
Special police bonds were approved for Louis F. Tomshock and Frank Sochocki, Jr.
The Clerk of the Board is directed to advertise for two (2) vehicles for the Fire
Department.
Comes now Mr. John Graybarz of the Building Department and gives an oral report
of the progress on the structure located on Samplc::Street which is occupied by
Dick the Mover.
Aletter is hereby directed to Mary and James Tsalikis, owners of Division Poultry
Company, 2214 Western Avenue requesting them to appear before the Board of Public
Works & Safety on Monday, March 9, 1959 at 10:00 A.M. for a hearing reference to
said Division Poultry Company.
The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and the bids for the Wgts.
and Measures Department were opened and read aloud. Proofs of publication in the
South Bend Tribune with an affidavit signed by Robert DeLong and in the Record with
an affidavit signed by W. DeCanio were submitted to the Board and found sufficient.
The bids received read as follows:

South Bend, Indiana $190.00 accompanied the bid.
One (1) 1959 Studebaker VD4 Lark Deluxe 2-door Station Wagon
/ Total net price ------ $1643.96
The bids will be taken under advisement and will be awarded at the next regular
meeting of the Board on Monday, March 9, 1959.
