A special meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Tuesday, January 27,
1959 at 2:00 P.M. All members were present. Meeting business consisted of the
following matter:
The Board of Public Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana hereby approves
the appointment of Ralph Stanley Rakowski, 1233 Sussex Drive to the City Fire
Department. Said applicant has passed: all required written examinations and
physical examinations by both the City Doctor and the Pension Board Doctor and
also having been found acceptable for membership in the Firemen's Pensioh Fund,
his appointment will become effective as of the 1st day of Febuary, 1959.
There being no other business to come before the Board, the meeting was called
adjourned at 2:20 P.M.

A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, February 9,
1959 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular
meeting were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of $7,216.53 were
approved and ordered paid to the following suppliers:
