A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, November 109
1958 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular
meeting were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of $419861.12 were
approved and ordered paid to the following suppliers:

Applications of the School Auxiliary Patrol were examined and placed on file
for Anna Haslanger.
The Board now approves the appointment of Robert Janowiak, 1329 N. Adams Street
to the City of South Bend Fire. Department. Said applicant has passed all re-
quired written examinations and physical examinations by both the City Doctor
and the Pension Board doctor, and also having been found acceptable for member-
ship in the Firemen's Pension Fund, this appointment will become effective as
of the 16th day of November, 1958.
Nick Horvath, Supt. of the Electrical Department, recommends the installation of
the following 4000 lumen lights:
1000 block W. Colfax Avenue
1026 North Huey Street
418 N. St. Peter Street
321 N. Notre Dame Avenue
517 Leland Avenue
Also, increase the following from 2500 to 4000 lumen
815 E. Madison Street
425 N. Notre Dame Avenue
The Board approves recommendation of the Electrical Superintendent and directs
Mr. Horvath to proceed with installation of said lights at above mentioned loca-
tions.
There being no further business to come before the Board, it was so announced and
the meeting was adjourned at 10:35 A.M.
