Applications for the Police Auxiliary School Patrol were accepted and placed on
file for Madge Wilson.
Police Chief Dutrieux appeared before the Board and requested permission to send
Officers Russell Ryker and Robert Horvath to school for Criminal Tests for Intoxi-
cation at Indiana University on October 6, thru October 11, 1958 and also to send
Officers Hampton and McNaughton to School for Criminal Homicide at the University
of Cinncinnatti on the day of October, 1958. Permission granted.
Special police applications are now approved by the Board for Rene Blondia, 814
E. Indiana Avenue and Donn L. Smith, 3947 Montgolfier Place.
There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned
at 1000 A.M. A

1958 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regular

Yost, and Carl Swanson.
The hearing on the property located at 10162 South Main Street and owned by Mrs. Stov-
all will be continued for ones week. Hearing to be held on Tuesday, October 14, 1958.
Applications for the Fire Department were approved and placed on file for Vernon Eck
and applications for the Police Department were approved and placed on file for Ervin
Kuspa. Permission is hereby granted to:;�/tc attehd the
Association of International Police Chiefs Conference in Miami Beach, Florida on
October 26�h through October 31st, 1958.

Mr. Chambers of 506 S. Chapin Street comes now before th and and appeals the
decision of Mr. John Graybarz of the South Bend # Dep ment to deny permission
to said Chambers to construct an open vent for a barbecue pit at the Chapin Street
address. After discussion with the Board, the Board members now decide that the
appeal of Mr. Chambers be denied and that he further discuss the natter with Mr.
Graybarz to possiblkr'_Wgrk out this matter to comply with Building Code requirements. -

The monthly reports for August and September, 1958 as submitted to the Board by Bert
