1958 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes.of the �revk regular '
meeting were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of'$7,913.51 were

A petition is hereby received from Mr. George Visocky, 1825 Benton Court asking
for the improvement of Benton Court to.Milton Street by street lighting. Pe-
tition is hereby referred to the City Electrical Department for two stigation
and.recommendation.
Nick Horvath, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, recommends the in-
stallation of the following street lights:
4000 lumen light at 115 S. Maple Street
4000 lumen light at 1015 Barberry Lane
Applications for the Fire Department were accepted and placed on file for Duane
Hanyzewski.
Applications for the Police Department were accepted and placed on file. for
Stephen Andert.
A petition is hereby received from several property owners asking for the im-
provement of 1154 W. Washington Avenue by street lighting. Petition referred
to the City Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation.
The Board of Public Works & Safety at a prior date entered into a lease with
the Fraternal Order of Police leasing certain portion of real estate on the
Police Pistol Rangeand an addendum is herewith entered upon in the minutes
of the Board of Public Safety that the Fraternal Order of Police, lessee herein,
is herewith authorized to remove structures now 6n the premises on condition
that said structures are replaced with new structures and further that plans
for said structures are approved by said Board of Public Safety before same
are replaced on the Police Pistol Range.

The time now being after 10:00_A.M. it was so announced and the bids for the
City Electrical Department were opened "and read aloud. Proofs of publication
in the South Bend Tribune with an affidavit signed by C. G. Livengood and in
the Record with an affidavit signed by W. DeCanio were submitted to the Board
and found sufficient. The bids received read as follows:
Jordan Equipment Company A non -collusion affidavit and a
South Bend, Indiana certified check in the amount of
$228.00 accompanied the bid.
One (1) Onan, Model 10 CW-4R Gasoline Engine
driven Electric Generating Set
Total bid price ---------- $2,276.00
After consideration and study of the bid, it was so�;announced that the bid hereby
be awarded to said Jordan Equipment for abovementioned price.
There being no further business to come before the Board, it was so announced and
the ineeting was adjourned at 10:45 A.M.

Applications for the Fire Department were approved and ordered placed on file
for Paul Kunde.
The Board hereby approves the recommendation of the Chief of Police that the
Uniformed Division of the Police Department in addition to their day of sched-
ule, which is a work week of six (6) days on active duty and two (2) days off,
an additional day off every -eight (8) weeks. Therefore, when a man has Friday
and Saturday off, he would also be granted Sunday off.. Effective as of this
date.
