The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and the bids for the Civil
Defense Department were opened and read aloud. Proofs of publication in the South
Bend Tribune with an affidavit signed by C. G. Livengood and in the Record with an
affidavit signed by W. DeCanio were submitted to the Board and found sufficient.
The single bid received reads as follows:
FREEMAN SPICER COMPANY A non -collusion affidavit and a
• 520 S. Lafayette Street certified check in the amount of
South Bend, Indiana $180.00 accompanied the bid.
One (1) 1958 BP4 Studebaker Commander V-8,
4-door Ambulet, Conversion Unit
Total bid price------------$1,796.98
After checking the bid and said bid having met with the requirements as set out
in the spe6ifications, the Board now awards the bid to Freeman Spicer Company.
There being no further business to come before -the Board, it was so announced
and the meeting::was::adjourned at 10:45 A.M.

A regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday, July7,
1958 at 10:00 A.M. All members were present. Minutes of the previous regu-
lar meeting were read and approved. Claims in the total amount of $1,559.22
were approved and ordered paid to the following suppliers:

Applications for the Police Department were accepted and placed on file for
Theodore Lemanski.
Permission is hereby granted to Officer Esarey to attend Annual Unit Training
at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin from July 31, 1958 to August 17, 1958; and to Officer
Charpliwy to attend summer training at Fort Sheridan, Illinois beginning July
20th to August 1st, inclusive.
Bert S. Cichowicz, City Sealer, hereby submits to the Board his monthly report
for the month of June, 1958. Accepted and placed on file in the office of the
Board.
Nick Horvath, Sup. of the Electrical Department, hereby submits to the
Board his recommendation as follows:
Installation of 37 - 6000 lumen lights on Northside Blvd.
from Sample Street to Twentieth Street.
1 - 4000 lumen light at the intersection
of Inglewood Place and Culver Place
Bert S. Cichowicz, City Sealer, hereby submits to the Board the Annual
report of the Weights and Measures Department for the period beginning
July 1, 1957 and ending June 30, 1958. Accepted and placed on file in
the office of the Board. Also, a copy of said report will be submitted
to the Mayor and the State Board of Weights & Measures Division.
The bid for the Central Alarm Headquarters was awarded to the following
vendor:
