A petition is hereby received from C..Maternowski and several others asking for the improvement of the intersection of Inglewood Place and Culver Place by the erection of street lighting. Petition is now referred to the City Electrical Department for investigation and recommendation. Permission is hereby granted to Det. Sgt. Russell Hunt to attend U. S. Army training at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin from August 17, 1958. 1 1 1 11 The time now being after 10:00 A.M. it was so announced and the bids for the Civil Defense Department were opened and read aloud. Proofs of publication in the South Bend Tribune with an affidavit signed by C. G. Livengood and in the Record with an affidavit signed by W. DeCanio were submitted to the Board and found sufficient. The single bid received reads as follows: FREEMAN SPICER COMPANY A non -collusion affidavit and a 520 S. Lafayette Street certified check in the amount of South Bend, Indiana $180.00 accompanied the bid. One (1) 1958 BP4 Studebaker Commander V-8, 4-door Ambulet, Conversion Unit Total bid price------------$1,796.98 After checking the bid and said bid having met with the requirements as set out in the specifications, the Board now awards the bid to Freeman Spicer Company.
